My journey from enquiry to procedure

My success story with the gastric balloon follows years of yo-yo dieting. I decided to research weight loss procedures that would help me not only physically lose weight but mentally to change my behaviours too. I really didn’t want to go down an invasive surgery route and after doing a Google search on gastric balloons, the Gastric Balloon Group came up. The website was extremely informative and I felt a level of excitement. I immediately took the plunge to email an enquiry there and then without too much thinking otherwise I probably wouldn’t have done it!!

Within 10 minutes of emailing my enquiry, I had a call back from Stacey from the GBG which made me feel instantly at ease, she was very helpful. I immediately made the decision that I wanted to go ahead with this procedure and definitely with the Gastric Balloon Group following their prompt, professional and informative first call.

I was surprised and delighted at how quickly the procedure was going to go ahead (1 week) for consultation and then the procedure the following week. The consultation was excellent and Mr Kasem gave me all the information I required prior to my procedure and gave me the opportunity to ask all of my questions.

The procedure

On the day of the procedure, the care, information and aftercare were extremely professional and the procedure itself was very quick and went very well. I was out of the hospital by 1 pm.

Before my procedure, the nurses had clearly informed me about the side effects to expect for the few days after having the balloon in and I felt totally prepared. I think the worst part was the first 2 days with nausea and sickness but this soon subsided and I felt pretty much back to normal after day 4.

I’d 100% recommend anyone considering having this procedure done to definitely go ahead with it. My apprehension was totally dissolved after my first discussion with Stacey and it’s the best thing I have ever done!
