Mr Jambulingam is a highly qualified and experienced surgeon specialising in gastrointestinal surgery, weight loss and obesity surgery, and the treatment of upper gastrointestinal tract cancers. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Madras, India in 1991, followed by a Master’s of General Surgery from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University, India in 1994. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, having achieved his FRCS in 1996 and FRCS (General Surgery) in 2004. With a focus on gastrointestinal surgery, Mr Jambulingam is an integral part of the specialist team at the Centre of Obesity Research at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, serving the East of England. He has undergone specialised training in bariatric surgery in various locations, including Hull, Taunton, Bruges in Belgium, and UPMC, Pittsburgh. In a multi-disciplinary team setting, he performs laparoscopic gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric roux-en-Y bypass procedures for weight loss. In addition to his expertise in weight loss and obesity surgery, Mr Jambulingam is skilled in endoscopy and laparoscopy procedures. He specialises in keyhole surgery for conditions such as gallstones, hernias, and anti-reflux surgery. Furthermore, he performs minimally invasive oesophagectomies (MIO) and gastrectomies for cancers and GIST tumours. Mr. Jambulingam is a valued member of professional organizations including the Association of Upper GI Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (AUGIS), the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). These memberships reflect his commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in his field. Mr Jambulingam provides his expertise and compassionate care to NHS patients at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and West Hertfordshire NHS Trust. Additionally, he offers private consultations and treatment at the Spire Hospital in Harpenden, Hertfordshire; Spire Hospital in Bushey, Hertfordshire; and the Cobham Clinic in Luton, Bedfordshire. With his extensive qualifications and experience, Mr Jambulingam is dedicated to providing high-quality surgical care to his patients.
