The Allurion Balloon is designed to last for approximately 16 weeks. During this time, it works by reducing feelings of hunger and supporting you in making the necessary lifestyle choices to maintain your weight loss. At around 16 weeks, the balloon will release its solution and naturally pass from your body.
For the Orbera 365 gastric balloon, it requires two visits to one of our placement centers for both placement and removal. The balloon can remain in place for up to 12 months, allowing for long-term support in maintaining your weight loss. However, if you feel that the balloon is no longer necessary to sustain your weight loss before the 12-month mark, early removal is available. With the Orbera 365 program, you will receive dietetic care and have access to our support team for the entire 12-month period.
The BIB (BioEnterics Intragastric Balloon) typically lasts for approximately 6 months. At the end of the six-month period, or possibly earlier if necessary, the BIB gastric balloon will be removed. The removal procedure is similar to the placement procedure and usually takes about 20-30 minutes.
Please note that the specific duration of balloon placement may vary depending on the individual’s response and the guidance provided by your healthcare provider. It is essential to follow the recommendations and instructions provided by your medical team throughout the balloon placement period.
